Challenge
Very dark existing attic space. that felt like living in the hull of a ship. Low ceilings, no storage, underutilized space. Goal is to transform this space into a proper primary suite with a bathroom, closets, and small office space.
Solution
Skylights! The new primary suite is modern, bright, and airy, a respite from the gray of Seattle. The dropped ceiling and dark wood paneling was removed revealing the existing collar ties. Addition of a primary bathroom, walk-in closet and additional built in storage utilizes every inch of the existing attic space.
