Challenge
Design a family home on an undeveloped site that was previously 1/3 of the ‘Hall of Mysteries’ site which includes the historic 30’ mixed masonry obelisk that must remain in it’s existing location.
Solution
Create a home that nests around the front yard obelisk and contrasts with the masonry and oyster clad obelisk so that it can continue to be celebrated as a local monument. The two story home layout shields a south facing backyard and lanai space allowing for a private indoor-outdoor flow.
